The Florida Wildlife Corridor: Connecting to Keep Florida
Cross will take us on a journey through the Florida Wildlife Corridor, demonstrating how the organization uses Expeditions and media to inspire others to help keep Florida wild.
Lindsay Cross joined the staff of the Florida Wildlife Corridor as Executive Director in April 2016. Prior to that, she spent 14 years at the Tampa Bay Estuary Program, working to protect and restore water quality and coastal and upland habitats. Her focus was on developing and managing research and restoration projects, facilitating stakeholder groups, and communicating results with scientists, policy makers and the public. She has also worked as a Program Associate at the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, a land trust in Des Moines.
Ms. Cross has a BS in Environmental Health from Colorado State University and spent two semesters abroad studying ecology and Spanish in Costa Rica and Spain. She earned a MS in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida, completing her thesis research on industrial stormwater regulations.
Lindsay is a graduate of the University of Florida’s Florida Natural Resources Leadership Institute and the St. Petersburg Chamber’s Leadership St. Pete program. She serves on the Board of the Friends of Weedon Island and previously volunteered as a SCUBA Dive Master and Scientist with the Teen Research Underwater Explorers (TRUE) Dive Team.
