Paddling the Tampa Bay Estuary
Leaders: Jeanne Murphy and Brian Lane, Sensing Nature, LLC
Assistants: Wayne Douchkoff, WayneAdventures
Join us for a relaxing paddle through the species rich Tampa Bay estuary, home to manatee, dolphin, juvenile sea turtles, roseate spoonbills, and more. Paddle through mangrove islands in a 3,000 acre preserve while learning the importance of Florida’s estuary habitats, including our mangrove forests and seagrass beds. Identify the common flora and fauna above, along, and in the water, as well as talk about the bay’s history, its restoration, continuing challenges for keeping it healthy, and how we can all make a positive difference in Florida’s tomorrow.
